AFC Leopards head coach Ivan Minnaert has been named the Coach of the Month for March.
Minnaert was unanimously voted for the award by Sports Journalists Association of Kenya beating Tusker coach Paul Nkata and City Stars’ John Bobby Ogolla.
The coach received Sh50,000 and a personalised trophy for his effort. In March, Minnaert led Leopards to three victories and one draw managing to bring out the best in youthful, but inexperienced players and has made Leopards one of the top contenders for the KPL title.
Minnaert becomes the second coach to win this award, which was introduced in January and is sponsored by Fidelity Insurance.
The inaugural winner was Mathare United’s Francis Kimanzi, who won it in February. —Gilbert Wandera
