Radio presenter Maina Kageni has refuted claims that he ever spoke about former Deputy Chief Justice Nancy Baraza on his morning show.

The radio presenter was responding to the claims made by Nancy Baraza on weekend interview with NTV’s Larry Madowo. In the interview, she said that Maina had in fact talked about her in the morning show after the Village Market incident.

Nancy Baraza said that the discourse around her drama was driven by Maina Kageni's radio conversation. “Somebody shapes a discourse and it is picked by everybody…”

The former Deputy CJ said Maina had propagated a “lie” that she had visited a pharmacy to buy condoms and a vibrator.

"I went to buy some medicine for my son and what did the media say?” she questioned.  “My discourse was shaped by a man called Maina  Kageni .. I hear people listen to something a called Maina Kageni……The conversation was that Nancy Baraza had gone to that pharmacy to buy condoms and a vibrator”

On his morning show, Maina however, said that the claims were misguided. “We have never discussed Nancy Baraza on this show…The person who told you that, fed you with a big fat lie"

The presenter went ahead and invited Nancy Baraza for a cup of coffee so he could clear the air: “I am ready to adjust my schedule so we can meet  with madam Nancy Baraza.”

In 2012, Nancy was involved in a scuffle in Village market and was accused by a guard Rebecca Kerubo of threatening her with a gun. The incident led to her suspension and subsequent resignation after less than one year in office.
