Oparanya asks Government to complete stalled projects

Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has accused the national government of poor planning.

The governor wants the Government to stop initiating new projects before it completes the stalled ones. He singled out the Kakamega-Webuye as one of those projects that have stalled in the region thus endangering the lives of motorists.

Poor planning has left many projects in the county, especially roads, stalled yet the Government is set to launch construction of others. He said the Government should first focus on completing construction of Kisumu-Kakamega, Kakamega-Webuye and Sigalagala-Butere roads before commissioning others. "Poor planning by the national government has left many projects stalled.

They should get their priorities right and complete stalled ones first," said Mr Oparanya. Vill Contractors are no longer working on the Kakamega-Webuye road after a protracted court battle.
