Tottenham to reward Manager with new deal amid interest from Premier League giants

The Spurs boss has three and a half years remaining on his current deal and has built a strong bond of mutual trust with chairman Daniel Levy.

Tottenham are ready to offer Mauricio Pochettino a new improved contract to ward off Chelsea and Manchester United.

But Levy is keen to reward Pochettino for building a young team which looks likely to achieve Champions League qualification despite the club having made a profit in the transfer market since his arrival in 2014.

The Argentine earns a basic wage of around £3.5million per year but that figure will be increased significantly if he commits to a longer-term deal.

Pochettino is described as having ‘free rein’ over the football side of the club - with Levy granting him more power than any of his previous managers

While Spurs are not said to be overly concerned by potential interest from Premier League rivals like Chelsea and United, they are willing to make a renewed statement of loyalty towards Pochettino with a new contract offer.

Pochettino committed himself to Spurs yesterday, saying: “I’m very happy here. We’ve created a very good group, with a strong basis for success in the future and I’m very happy.
