To most Kenyan men, a will is a foreign thing. The lack of a will has been seen to lead to problems after death leaving families fighting for property.
This is especially so in cases where the deceased has more than one wife.
A research conducted in the country revealed that only one in 10 men were found to have a will. The research by Beep Africa showed that nine families out of the 10 have a likelihood of ending up in court over feuds on who will take what after death.
This has led to an increase in the number of probate and administration cases in court.
To put an end to this, men as well as women, should be advised to try write a will before their demise.
And mostly importantly, spouses should avoid hiding some members of their family only for them to emerge after their death.
