The green toaster is designed to quickly clean and sanitise your phone by popping it in the top, like a slice of bread and waiting for the magic to happen.
It is really simple to use:
*Switch on an app on your smartphone
*Place the phone in the toaster and press down the lever
*The UV light then sterilises and kills all the micro-organisms on the device
*The toaster pops up, giving you a clean phone ready to use
It has been designed by a team in Britain for a Korean online auction site, and is now being trialled to see how popular it is.
It is expected to be rolled out in coffee shops for customers to use while they wait for their hot drinks.
Design director Craig Wightman for Bristol-based Kinneir Dufort said: "We needed a device that we could use in a café environment and came up with the idea of a toaster because everybody understands what it does."
He added: "The electronics system inside the toaster to achieve the UV sterilisation and light identification was also developed internally by Kinneir Dufort.
"The system uses a germicidal lamp which emits short wave ultra violet radiation killing bacteria and other micro-organisms."
GMarket - Korea's answer to eBay - is currently trialling the device to see if there is sufficient interest in the Green Toaster to make mass production a viable option.
