Imenti Central MP Gideon Mwiti Irea has quit drinking and closed down his beer distribution business as a way of fighting alcohol consumption in the country.

 Mwiti came into the national limelight in March following accusations of rape leading to a case which has since been suspended by High Court judge Weldon Korir to allow the Imenti Central MP to challenge the legality of his prosecution.
