MP's aide wanted on defilement charges

Kwale MP Zainab Chidzuga

An MP has pleaded with her colleague to help police trace his personal assistant, who allegedly fled after defiling two girls and impregnating one.

Kwale MP Zainab Chidzuga accused the MP's aide and one of his friends for allegedly defiling two girls during an albinism conference at Diani Forest Lodge in the county.

The two allegedly lured the girls before defiling them during the conference.

Ms Chidzuga showed the media medical reports that showed the girls had been defiled by people known to them. The MP recommended further police action.

"The incident is shocking and I have tried to reach the MP (name withheld) but his phone is always off. I have also tried to meet him in Parliament but still, it has been impossible. He might be aware of the incident because it happened in April," she claimed.

 Aide escapes

Chidzuga said one of the suspects, who is alleged to have defiled a 16-year-old girl, was arrested but  the MP's aide managed to escape and has been on the run since then.

The two alleged pedophiles had gone to record a statement following the incident, but the MP's aide tricked the officers and ran away.

The other suspect works as a caretaker in an orphanage and was arrested after the medical reports linked him to the act.

Chidzuga produced a letter from one of the girls narrating how she had been coaxed into the act by the alleged offender during the albinism workshop on April 9.

"I asked him one question: Can't you hear that I am very young and that I am in primary school?" asked the 14-year-old girl in the letter.

The MP claimed that the two girls are undergoing psychological trauma as a result of the incident and asked well wishers to come to their aid.

"The young girls are going through psychological problems from that encounter and I appeal to well wishers to offer them support because they also require proper counselling," said Chidzuga.
