Airtel announces sponsorship for Impala Rugby Floodlit tourney

 

Airtel Kenya Limited has announced its sponsorship for this year's edition of the Impala Rugby Floodlit tournament to be held at the Impala Club grounds on the first three Saturdays of October.
The tournament, which turns 33 this year will bring together eight invited clubs, eight Universities, eight High School teams as well as 20 Junior Rugby sides.
Big names like KCB, Nondies, Nakuru, Kenya Harlequin, Impala Saracens, Homeboyz and Mean Machine are some of the clubs that have already confirmed their participation.
While announcing the company's support towards this year's event, Airtel Kenya CEO Adil El Youssefi reiterated his company's commitment to the promotion of sports in the country.
"Airtel is delighted again to be part of this year's tournament, offering rugby enthusiasts an opportunity to enjoy their favorite sport. Our support towards this tournament shows our commitment in supporting sporting activities that expose and nurture talent among the youth in Kenya. Rugby remains one of the fastest growing Kenyan sports in the country and we will continually support opportunities like this for talented youth in Kenya to connect with each other through their passion for the sport," said El Youssefi.
On his part, the Chairman of the Impala Saracens Rugby Oduor Gangla acknowledged Airtel for their continued support of the fast growing sport in the country.
"Our partnership with Airtel is now three years old and we look forward to delivering a world class event once again. Gangla welcomed more organizations to join and support the tournament and interact with the ever expanding fan base of rugby followers in the country," said Gangla.
Game Yetu, the Standard Group's biweekly sports newspaper, were the official media partners of last year's edition which was clinched by KCB after they beat holders Nondies 28-3 in the final.
