Neil Taylor snubs Leicester City’s deal to sign Swansea Gylfi Sigurdsson

Gylfi Sigurdsson

Neil Taylor has urged Swansea to stand firm and refuse to sell Gylfi Sigurdsson to champions Leicester.

The Foxes are interested in the Swans’ Icelandic attacking midfielder Sigurdsson to bolster their squad ahead of the Champions League.

He scored 11 Premier League goals this season and had three assists in an impressive campaign.

Sigurdsson has two years left on his contract at the Liberty Stadium.

“We are desperate for him to stay. We are desperate for all our best players to stay and add to that, that’s what we want to do.” admitted Wales left-back Taylor.

“We don’t want to be a selling club. The Premier League means you don’t have to any more with the money that has come in.

“But once you do well you are going to get linked with the top teams and Leicester happened to win it, so that’s just the way it goes.

“Hopefully we can hang onto him and a few other players - Andre Ayew is another one, there are a few.”
