Johnny Depp’s wife files for divorces after 15 months of marriage, demands a share of Sh40 billion

Johnny Depp with Ex Amber Heard

Johnny Depp has fired back at ex Amber Heard 's claim for spousal support as she filed for divorce this week.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor has hired top divorce lawyer, Laura Wasser, who filed a legal response on Wednesday, according to TMZ.

Wasser has recently represented the likes of Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner and Maria Schriver.

Johnny's $400 million net worth dwarves his ex and Rum Diaries co-star Amber. But it has been reported that the stars did not get a pre-nuptial agreement before they wed in February last year.

Amber reportedly filed for divorce from Depp just 15 months after they married.

The actress, 30, cited irreconcilable differences when she filed the petition on Monday, according to TMZ.

Amber, who first started dating Johnny in 2012 after meeting on the set of The Rum Diary, is said to be seeking spousal support.

Sources tell the website the couple had no prenup.

She filed for divorce just two days after Johnny’s mum Betty Sue Palmer passed away.

The pair are believed to have got engaged during Christmas 2013 and married in an intimate ceremony at their home in Los Angeles in February 2015.

Speaking about their relationship previously, the 52-year-old said he married the star after she got "into his head".

"She was in my head, so I tracked her down," he shared. "We tracked each other down. Actually, incidentally, it was amazing.

"It was at the first day of press on The Rum Diary. Then we married that very day!"

News of the split comes just weeks after they filmed an apology for smuggling their dogs, Pistol and Boo, into Australia.

The video was played in court and posted on the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources’ YouTube channel.

At the hearing at Southport Magistrate's Court in Queensland, Amber's lawyer Jeremy Kirk told the court she thought Johnny's staff had already dealt with the two dogs' travel documents, adding the documents had "slipped through the cracks".

He said: "It was a terrible, terrible mistake. There was no attempt to deceive."

Prosecutor Peter Callaghan agreed that Amber's fame had drawn attention to the case but insisted "the laws apply to everyone".

Amber is said to be seeking spousal support.

Johnny split from partner of 14 years, and mother of his two children, Vanessa Paradis in June of 2012.

It will be the actor's second divorce after previously splitting from ex-wife Lori Anne Allison just two years after they wed.

While Amber had ended her three-year relationship with girlfriend Tasya van Ree in 2011.
