An Administration Police officer has moved to court to sue a man who allegedly attacked him with a kitchen knife before robbing him.
Joseph Mungai said he was robbed of a mobile phone valued at Sh10,000 by Donald Omondi on October 12 last year at Mlango Kubwa along Juja Road.
The officer claims he was saved by street children (chokoras).
According to prosecution, Mungai had visited his friend at Moi Airbase and was returning to his City Park camp when he was accosted by the Omondi who was in the company of two other men.
Mungai claims he screamed at the top of his voice, alerting the street children who came to his rescue before calling a Good Samaritan who rushed him to hospital.
The matter was reported to police and the suspect arrested while using the phone he had allegedly stolen from Mungai.
Omondi denied the charges and was released on a surety bond of Sh500,000. The case will be heard on July 8, 2016.
