Strathmore University among four new players to add power to national grid

Kenya Power Chief Executive Ben Chumo said use of renewable sources of energy will reduce the cost of electricity to customers.

Strathmore University is among four new power producers who will start contributing energy to the national grid after a deal signed Thursday.

Kwale International Sugar Company at the Coast also signed a 20-year deal to sell power to the national grid alongside Mt Kenya based organisation, a women community based organisation (CBO), and Ndanyat Power limited.
