Teen found hanged after Germany World Cup win had been teased by friends for supporting Brazil

Pragya Thapa, 15, was found hanged in her room in Nepal yesterday by her mother.

The teenager is said to have committed suicide after Brazil's humiliating defeat against Germany.

Pragya was found hanged in her room at her home in Bharaul village, 250 miles east of Katmandu, yesterday morning following the 7-1 match.

Her mother made the grim discovery at the house she shared with her parents and grandparents.

Her father is currently working abroad and police are investigating.

Sharad Thapa, a Nepal Police inspector, said: "She was anxious to see Brazil in the final, but it went down to Germany.

"Some of her friends started teasing her for supporting Brazil.

"Later in the morning, she took an extreme measure by hanging herself in her own room."
