Two old bombs recovered in Nairobi’s Huruma area

Nairobi, Kenya: Two old bombs have been recovered from a trench near a church in Huruma area, Nairobi causing panic among residents.

The bombs, each weighing about 5 kilogrammes were spotted by locals who called police.

Police have confirmed the bombs are old but can cause harm and deaths if detonated.

Officers from bomb disposal unit arrived at the scene and carried the devices away.

Starehe police division police boss Samuel Anampiu says the bombs have been detonated by experts and that they are investigating the source and motive of them being near Soldiers of Faith church.

A crowd gathered to have a glimpse of the devices despite efforts by police to have them leave the scene.
