Defiant Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) officials told its members to ignore the order.

Deputy President William Ruto sought to explain that the laptop project and termed as erroneous suggestions that the Government had allocated Sh53 billion to the project.

Ruto’s response was to calls by Knut and KUPPET for the funds allocated to the project be used to pay them.

Attorney General Githu Muigai also cautioned teachers against disobeying the court order.
