Five killed, 2000 cattle stolen in Turkana raid

Turkana, Kenya: Five people have been killed and over 2,000 animals stolen in a dawn raid in Kaptir, Turkana South.

Among the killed are two children, two men and a woman.

Cases of cattle raid involving warring communities have increased in the recent past.

On Wednesday,a man was shot dead by suspected rustlers in a raid in Baringo County

The incident happened barely a day after three police officers and three other people were killed in neighbouring East Pokot District.

The increasing insecurity in the region has raised tension among the locals has raised tension among the locals. Several schools have been closed and the area residents moved to safer areas.
