Miguna eyes Nairobi governorship

Controversial author Miguna Muguna has announced that he has his eyes on Nairobi governorship.

“I am running for governor of Nairobi in this election,” said Miguna on a local television show.

Miguna, who is behind the “come, baby come” phrase, went on to highlight his plan to revolutionize the city of Nairobi should he take the seat.

Scoffing at his competition, Muguna asserted that he is better placed to run the Nairobi, citing his experience in student leadership and his legal background.

“Kidero from where? Has he been in any leadership position? Has he ever been elected anything? I have been elected a student leader in Nairobi when nobody was speaking against dictatorship,” said Miguna.

Adding that he is a self-made man without deep pockets, expressed that he relates better to Nairobi voters, most of whom are struggling with unemployment.

“I am the same age as the jokers that have declared. The only thing is that they have looted the economy, and I have not. The citizens of Nairobi should recognize that I am closer to them than these looters. Why do you elect somebody who does not live like you; who does not experience the same problems as you?”

Miguna Miguna joins the list of high profile names to declare their interest in running capital city. Other gubernatorial hopefuls include Embakasi MP Ferdinand Waititu,  Former Mumias Sugar Company  CEO Evans Kidero and Former Nairobi  Town Clerk Phillip Kisia.
