Vihiga man nailed to a tree for allegedly stealing a radio

Police in Sabatia, Vihiga County are looking for a suspect who allegedly nailed a youthful man to a tree on allegations that he stole a radio.

North Izava Location chief Evans Endesha filed a report at Kilingili Police Station at 4pm on Friday, February 18, stating he had been informed that a 19-year-old man from Chamasili Village had been attacked on allegation of stealing a radio.

“Police [consequently] visited the scene and found that an adult, whose name is Collins Sambaya, had been injured by one Elvis Irime. The suspect had nailed Sambaya to a tree on allegation that the victim stole his radio,” said the report filed under OB Number 07/18/02/2022.

Police said they went to Irime’s place, but he fled upon seeing the law enforcement officers approaching.

“The victim was rescued and rushed to Vihiga County Referral Hospital, where he is receiving treatment, and is currently in a stable condition,” added the police report.
