The Nairobi Hospital on Wednesday announced a number of measures in a bid to ensure patients and staff are protected from Coronavirus.

Through a statement to newsrooms, the hospital stated that the adjustments would be effected by 6pm today (Wednesday).

Here are the new measures:

  • Single time window for visitations (4pm-6pm only)

  • Children below 12years are not allowed in unless they are patients
  • External food and drinks prohibited

The hospital further stated that its Anderson Specialty Clinics will no longer accept walk-ins but will see patients on appointment basis except obstetric, vaccination, family health and well-baby clinics.

Satellite facilities will remain open but will offer only accident and emergency services.

Also, prescriptions will be received via mail and delivered at Sh400.

The hospital stated that the new conditions are aimed at decongesting its facilities and reducing transmission risk.

On Tuesday, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said that Kenya’s coronavirus cases have increased to 25 after nine more people tested Covid-19 positive.

Speaking during his routine daily press briefing at Afya House, Nairobi, Kagwe revealed that the new cases were spread out across four counties namely: Nairobi, Mombasa, Kilifi and Kwale.

He said among the new cases, seven were Kenyans while the other two were foreigners.
