Dennis
Itumbi, former Director of Digital Communications at the Presidential
Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU) has posted his first message hours after Public
Service Commission (PSC) declared his post null and void.
Taking to his social media handles, Itumbi posted a simple
message ‘Amen’ saying that it was all he had to say for today.
“Pastor's Moment: Amen! That is all today, Amen. God Bless
You and Keep You” posted Itumbi.
Itumbi, was, however, not the only one who lost his job. The
others included, John Ndolo (Principal Information Officer – Head of Digital
Strategies), lawyer Eric Ng’enoh (Senior Director, Communication (Speech
Writing) James Mureithi and David Musau (Directorate of communications, events
and branding).
The PSC CEO Simon Rotich through a letter to the Interior CS
Fred Matiang’I on March 18, said that the positions were scrapped in a bid to reorganize
the government.
Itumbi, who lost his job on his birthday, received a lot of
messages and advice from Kenyans and other leaders.
Elgeyo Markwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen said, “You served
the State with passion & commitment in the most difficult period;3
elections & ICC. With COVID19 it’s the worst time to lose a job. You are in
my prayers. God will provide for u & ur families. It is well!”
Martha Karua said, “@OleItumbi
son we may not be on the same page politically, but as a mother I say to you it
shall be well.”
Former presidential candidate Mwalimu Dida said,” l recently
twitted about Dennis Itumbi
being the interim president in absence of HE Uhuru and his touring DP Ruto. l
understand that just days later, Itumbi's
post was disbanded, rendering him an "active job seeker with 7yrs
experience". May that young man find peace in his life.”
Dennis Itumbi has been the Director of Digital
Communications for the past seven years. He has since changed his description
on Twitter to ‘Pig farmer.’
