Atheists invite Ruto to fundraiser, ask him to be as generous as he is to churches

Atheists in Kenya Society on Monday invited Deputy President William Ruto to a fundraiser that is aimed at financing the group’s activities.

In a letter seen by Ureport, the society stated that the DP has been generous to churches in recent days and seemed to ask him to extend the same generosity to them.

“Deputy President William Ruto has been donating millions of shillings to various churches across the country.

“Indeed, since his re-election in 2017, Ruto has been very generous to churches.

“As a society, we would like to invite the Deputy President to grace our event at Hotel Metro, Nairobi on the 14th of September, 2019,” read the letter in part.

The atheists further stated that they embrace humanistic ideals and values and challenged the DP to associate with them as much as he associates with Christians and Muslims.

They also asked Ruto to partner with them in building schools and hospitals.

“We want to support the jobless in Kenya by setting up training centres that are based on secular values.

“We want to build children homes and assist the government eliminate the street children menace in the country,” read the letter in part.
