Manny Pacquiao may have surprised many by rolling back the years and beating Keith Thurman on Saturday night - but not Floyd Mayweather.

Pacquiao dropped world champion Thurman in the first round of their Las Vegas showdown before ultimately winning by split-decision.

And Mayweather, who was ringside as his promotional company was involved in the fight, gave his reaction.

According to The Athletic, he said: "That doesn’t surprise me. That’s Manny Pacquiao."

Mayweather and Pacquiao have been linked with a rematch, four years after the former cruised to a points decision in the richest fight in history.

And Pacquiao claimed his rival leapt out of his seat in celebration when Thurman hit the deck.

But the Filipino also insisted he will not fight again this year due to his commitments as a Senator in his homeland.

On Mayweather, he said: "I don't have an idea, my plan this time is one fight at a time.

"He's in retirement and he's enjoying his retirement; he's inactive. If he's willing to come back and willing to fight me, then at the time he will announce it, and we can say yes."

Mayweather has not fought since he took his record to 50-0 by stopping Conor McGregor in their farcial but lucrative fight in 2017.

Thurman, meanwhile, admitted he fell short in suffering his first professional defeat.

He said: "He's been in so many wars, he just knows what to do at the right time.”I had a good training camp but I felt like I needed a better output to go toe to toe with Manny Pacquiao."
