Nkiruka also looked back at the numerous times she prayed for her ex-husband to build a bigger house but they separated before it was completed
Nigerian blogger Blessing OKoro Nkiruka this week took to social media to share the fruits of her hard work, years after her ex-husband threw her out of his house.
Okoro, the founder of popular relationship blog Break or Makeup, revealed that being thrown out of her husband’s house eight years ago was painful for her but it opened her eyes.
The 30-year-old woman narrated how she felt hopeless after falling out with her ex-husband but reserved special praise for her mother who asked her to pick up the pieces and make herself better.
“People suggested juju for me…some suggested prophets, and some said they will take me to Ibadan where they will make him come back to me but I had a powerful mom, God bless her.
“She told me, Nkiruka, listen to me, there is nothing your ex has that you cannot have only if u work hard. I took my mum’s advise and started my journey to succeed,” she said.
She discovered the online space and made good use of it by sharing her story and slowly her blog began to grow and gained recognition all over the world.
Last year, Nkiruka celebrated her 29th birthday by gifting herself a Mercedes Benz but her 30th was even better as she marveled at her newly built 7-bedroom duplex.
“8years ago my ex-husband threw me out of his 1-bedroom apartment. 8years later I built myself a 7-bedroom duplex.
“I picked up all the stones he threw at me to build myself. I became too strong and fortified. Yes, dreams do come true,” she wrote.
Nkiruka also looked back at the numerous times she prayed for her ex-husband to build a bigger house but they separated before it was completed.
“I had so much hope, so happy I will have a big kitchen and a compound to myself, could not wait to have my room…as we went to inspect the place during weekends.
“But guess what, I never lived in that house,” she narrated.
She urged women to build themselves in marriage and encouraged those who have been dumped to pick up the pieces and become better.
“As you build with a man don’t forget to build yourself. You can do everything a man can do and even more.
“Build yourself is what we call plan B. I am a product of grace,” she said.
