Class two pupil hangs himself in Kakamega

Police are still investigating the circumstances under which a class two pupil took his own life at Ikonyero village in Lurambi Constituency on Sunday.

Kakamega OCPD David Kabena, who confirmed the incident, said that it’s still unclear why the boy committed suicide.

According to Citizen, the 8-year-old’s body was found hanging from the roof of their bathroom with a rope around the neck.

His body was found by some children who were playing nearby.

The body of the minor was taken to Kakamega County Teaching and Referral mortuary pending a post mortem examination.

This comes days after a varsity student in Kitui committed suicide by hanging herself leaving behind a suicide note addressed to the parents.

“Dear mum and dad, I am sorry I had to do this. I love you guys so much, but I can’t take it any longer [sic]. Life has become unbearable. I cannot live like this anymore,” read the suicide note.

Her body was taken to Kitui Level Four Hospital mortuary for preservation.
