Officials of the corporation yesterday told a parliamentary committee that all their efforts to recover the funds from the powerful individual had hit a brick wall.

Reports that corruption investigators were probing a senior Government official may have shocked and saddened his family and friends.
However, news of the official’s troubles with the law was received with joy by some staff of a key State department.
The workers say the man, who worked at the agency before being promoted, had used his position to belittle them.
“He nearly brought the department to its knees by interfering with the management and frustrating anyone he had issues with. We are happy that the law has finally caught up with him,” one employee was overheard saying.
