Award-winning gospel artiste Eko Dydda was left amused after he was denied the chance to perform during the crowning of Mr and Miss MMUST beauty contest.
Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) cultural week event organisers insisted that the Vidole hitmaker could not perform before the models were crowned.
This was happening despite the angry 2017 Groove Awards Male Artiste of the Year having pocketed a non-refundable Sh50,000.
“My contract with the event organisers states that I should be on stage from 1am to 4am, thus I cannot perform after that, ” Eko Dydda was overheard saying. It was 4.20am at the time and the angry gospel singer drove out of the campus compound.
Comrades were heard yelling at him saying, “We do not want gospel singers in this mood. We need someone who can rock when we are this high. Eko will start preaching to us, let him go!”
