Local and international artists among them Keri Hilson gathered at KICC Thursday afternoon for a press briefing ahead of the Terminal Music Weekend concert that starts this Friday.
As early as 12 pm, journalists from different media organizations had started trickling in at the KICC making their way to a first floor boardroom where the conference was to take place.
By around 2 pm when the press conference was starting, the room was packed with a battery of reporters.
The highlight of the press conference however came towards the end when the floor was opened for questions to American songbird Keri Hilson.
“What lessons did you learn in relation to your music career when you were undergoing depression and kept yourself away from the limelight?” Asked one.
For a moment, the room remained almost silent as both reporters and Keri seemed to be weighing the gravity of the question.
The constant and sure smile on Keri’s face faded away as her eyes became slightly watery with tears, a tiny teardrop falling on her left cheek.
“I think we should learn to express our feelings in the songs we write. It was during that time that I feel I worked on some of my best projects as a songwriter” she said with a partial stammer.
Furthermore, the Energy hit maker added that she “learned to accept emotions as part of what makes one who they are.”
