Ladies, things your sponsor doesn't tell you

News

This 'sponsor' thing has become so common. It's like the easiest and highest paying job and every girl wants to have. It doesn't matter whether you are in campus passing time or high school doing what you have to. That older man may have mastered every art of romance but do not be fooled. There are things that he doesn't tell you, and you should know.

To begin with, he doesn't love, respect or care about you. Yes, this old man who hides the smell of old age with expensive colognes doesn't even think about marrying you someday. He doesn't even care if you get hit by a car on your way to that hotel room. He likes talking to you about everything that's important to him but never about what you care about. That is enough reason for you to leave but do you?

In addition to this, he has a dozen of other sugar babies. Don't ever make the mistake of thinking that you are the only girl in his life. The truth is, he has other girls preying on his huge salary and he wants to please them as much. So be kind enough not to push him too hard. He has a long priority list, and he wants you to respect that, even though you are not on it. Moreover, he plans to leave you one day.

What you have is a local arrangement; like the one you have with the Mama Mboga near your home. It's not a legal union and one day when he's tired of eating the same old meal, he will look for healthier ones. I have heard girls say that it might last because they read some novel where the main protagonist is a business mogul who married his 21-year-old secretary. That was fiction! The world, especially Kenya is entirely different.

Again, he tells his fellow men about you. He spouts about you to his friends because as your self-esteem plummets each day, his ego inflates. This man thrives on your needy character and thanks to you; he relives the long gone years of his teenagehood. It is entirely not in my place to judge but, with all the classic pairs of shoes that this man has bought you; can't you find your way to your local church? Believe me; everyone has a chance in heaven!
