Why new governors should be mentored

There are some governors and senators who lost in party nominations and chances of them being re-elected in the August 8 polls are nil. Some have opted to run as independent candidates while others have thrown in the towel and will not be on the ballot. They were the pioneer of devolution and have a wealth of knowledge.

Incumbent governors and senators should organise a workshop or seminar for all contestants, so that whoever will be elected will have a knowledge of what goes on in counties. It is prudent for the incoming governors or senators to be educated on the important areas of devolution and what they will do on the day to day basis.
