FA CUP FINAL

Why Arsenal will win the FA cup

Being the second time the two teams are contesting the final of FA cup, Arsenal will be looking to repeat history having beaten Chelsea 2-0 in 2002 to lift the title at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff when Wembley was being rebuilt.

Arsene Wenger will be looking to become the most successful manager when it comes to the FA Cup. He ties at six FA Cups with former Aston Villa manager George Ramsey.

His future is uncertain, he will be looking forward to leaving on a high if this is his last season. Arsenal has won six of its last 11 finals with Wenger as the manager with his only defeat coming in 2001 against Liverpool.

With 13 FA cups, tied with Manchester United, Arsenal will be looking to win it a record 14th time. They will be looking to better their numbers in the oldest cup competition in the world. Chelsea has only seven FA Cups.

Arsenal’s recent record at Wembley Stadium speaks for itself. They were disappointed at Wembley once by Birmingham City in the then Carling Cup final in 2011, but it has been in a good run of form in the stadium.

With Chelsea winning the EPL trophy, they have been in celebration mood. They are likely to be carried away and will most probably lose the FA Cup final

Arsenal has failed to reach the Champions League for the first time in twenty-two years. This campaign has been an utter disappointment to them having failed to attain their usual top four positions.

FA Cup is silverware. Manchester United has the UEFA Europa League, League Cup and Community Shield, Chelsea has the English Premier League trophy. Arsenal will also want to be mentioned where teams with silverware are.

Arsenal has won seven of their last eight league games, showing that they are in a good run of form, losing only three points to their arch rivals Tottenham Hotspurs.

If Arsenal is to play the season opener (Community Shield) next season, then it has to win the FA cCup Failure to do so will hand their west London rivals Tottenham the opportunity to play the game.

The community shield is a game played by the winners of the FA Cup and the current holders of the EPL. If the current EPL holder is the FA Cup winner then the community shield will be played by the holder of EPL and the runners up. Arsenal will have to give it their all to have a replay of the final in the season opener.

But without their first choice center backs, and Mustafi’s fitness not clear , they are likely to concede a goal but will definitely score more.
