Mombasa Senator Omar Hassan hints on why President Uhuru should leave Joho alone

Mombasa Senator Omar Hassan has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to stop working on means to bar Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho from contesting in the forthcoming August polls.

Speaking at Akamba handcraft workshop in Changamwe Omar told President Uhuru to keep off Mombasa politics because the residents know who is fit to lead them.

He further said that he really wanted to defeat Joho in the ballot box.He lashed at Uhuru Kenyatta for using unorthodox means to bar Joho from the contest.

“I want Joho to defeat Joho in the ballot, that method the President is using to block him is not viable, the guy is beatable. Let Joho be on the ballot so that I defeat him in the ballot,” said Omar.

According to him, there is no need of blocking Joho from contesting because he is beatable going by his development record in Mombasa. He clearly stated that the People of Mombasa know that Joho has done nothing to them that is why they will not re-elect him as their governor come August 8th.

He warned those medaling in Mombasa politics and told them that they have no powers to decide for the people of Mombasa because they have the capacity to choose their leaders.

He downplayed fellow Mombasa governor aspirant who is also Nyali MPHezron Awiti Bollo defection from Wiper Party and said that he will beat him no matter which political party he will use to run for the governorship in the forthcoming General Election.

Meanwhile, senator Omar has expressed confidence in beating his rivals to clinch the Mombasa gubernatorial seat.
