Joho to skip date with criminal investigations directorate over 'other commitments' as he picks on next day.

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has expressed acceptance to the request seeking him appear in person to the Mombasa regional Directorate of criminal investigations to record a statement on alleged forgery of his 1992 KCSE certificate.

Mr. Joho ON Monday evening confirmed having received a summoning letter from the Deputy Inspector General of Police Mr. Pius Macharia based at the regional DCI headquarters in Mombasa.

The letter required Mr. Joho to appear before the officer investigating the alleged crime today(March 28, 2017) at 10:00 am and record a statement relating to the matter.

Governor Joho in his response to the letter said it is impossible for him to appear today as had been requested as he had already scheduled activities for the day and will only manage to appear tomorrow (Wednesday 29, March) at 10 am for the said statement recording.

He has termed his being investigated as a sequence of vindication and vows to fight on.

"I know I will be vindicated once again and this will never deter me from pursuing the transformation agenda for my people," he said.

Through his social media pages, Joho said, "I have informed them in writing that due to confirmed prior commitments I will personally honor the summon this Wednesday at 103OHRS."
