Musalia named the as the luhya spokesman in a quest for luhya unity

Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi has been named the Luhya elder in a quest to unite the luhya community.Mudavadi will now stand as a symbol unity to all Luhya sub tribes.

Speaking today at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega county during the unveiling of the Luhya spokesman COTU boss Francis Atwoli, named Musalia mudavadi as the spoksman saying that the leader got 39% popularity.He was followed closely with Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula and Kakamega governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya who both got 30%.

According to Atwoli the Luhyas are more united than before and nobody should be cheated that the Luhyas cannot come together.He said Musalia will play a very big role in ensuring that the Luhya tribe has a say in the politics of the country.Also, Atwoli said the current governors have a popularity in their respective counties.

The effort by Mr. Atwoli has elicited mixed reactions and sparked contraversy from leaders in the region, with some terming his ambition as self-motivated.Mr. Atwoli said that Mr. Mudavadi, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula, former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo and Oparanya should work together to solidify the unity.

 Some of the local MPs snabbed the meeting they have not briefed about the meeting.Among these MPs are Benjamin Washiali (Mumias East), Emmanuel Wangwe (Navakholo), Andrew Toboso (Butere), Bernard Shinali (Ikolomani) Malulu Injendi (Malava), David Were (Matungu) and Benjamin Andola (Khwisero.

Atwoli placed those who are against the Luhya unity on notice saying they are against the development of the region.He said these people are traitors and the electorates should not elect them to any leadership position.

Mr. Musalia accepted the responsibility that was bestowed on him as the Luhya spokesman.He thanked Atwoli for his commitment in seeing that the Luhya tribe is united.

According to him through the support of other leaders and the residents will see their dream of unity come true.He urged the residents to walk with him throughout this journey.He said all those leaders who are far from the unity to come and join him.He also told the residents to register as votes in large number to out Jubilee from power.
