The Nairobi County Aquatics Association (NCAA) set the stage for a thrilling meet as it hosted the Level Three Swimming Championship at Peponi School.

One notable highlight of this championship has been the remarkable response from master swimmers, who have proven that age is merely a number.

Their determination to return to competitive swimming has been evident in the overwhelming number of entries. As they strive to qualify for the upcoming CANA Zone 3 competition scheduled for November in Kigali.

Paul Oduor is among three standout master swimmers who participated in the event.

Oduor is one of the three prominent personalities who caught the attention of enthusiasts and spectators alike. He also serves as a coach at Peponi School. Showcasing his expertise both in and out of the water.

Anne Obure, a former captain of Piranaz at Kenyatta University, is making her presence felt with her remarkable swimming prowess. Dr Edwin Boit is a former competitive swimmer Director of NextGen Multi Sports, and a lecturer of Sports Science at Kenyatta University.

It was not limited to just masters swimmers, the NCAA gala also attracted participation from the banking community.

Bankers participating in the event are using it as an opportunity to gauge their performance ahead of the upcoming Inter Bank Swimming Championship scheduled for next weekend at the Kasarani Aquatics Arena.

Owiti, the newly elected President of Kenya Aquatics, has applauded the commitment of master swimmers and affirmed her office's readiness to collaborate with all stakeholders in a concerted effort to promote swimming across the country.

With a renewed focus on nurturing talent and fostering partnerships.

"As an association, our vision is to restore the lost glory of the sport and ensure that swimming becomes a unifying force in Kenya's sports landscape," Owiti noted.

As the NCAA championship unfolds over the next few days, spectators and athletes alike can look forward to an inspiring exhibition of the spirit of competition, determination, and the enduring love for swimming.
