Woman fighting for life after plunging 30ft onto concrete river bank during romantic break with boyfriend in Pisa

A British tourist has been left fighting for her life after plunging 30ft onto a concrete river bank during a romantic break in Italy. Mum, Rommily Gill suffered multiple fractures after falling from the street into the River Arno in Pisa on Sunday, the Daily Record reports.
The 33-year-old was with her boyfriend Derek Cooper when she fell onto a concrete ledge below. Horrified passers-by alerted emergency services and she was rushed to hospital.
Italian police say the pair had been enjoying the evening in the medieval city centre before Miss Gill lost her balance and tragedy struck.
Firefighters had to hoist her back up to street level before she was rushed to the city's Cisanello hospital where she remains in a coma.
Her boyfriend Derek is keeping vigil by her bedside while the rest of her family fly to Italy to be with the couple.
Multi-lingual danger signs have been put up around Pisa in recent years to warn tourists of the dangers of falling into the River Arno.
