Raila Odinga: Prepare for Tuesday's demos

Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Leader Raila Odinga has told his supporters to prepare to hit the streets again on Tuesday.

Odinga who was speaking in Kibera after getting back into the country from a weeklong visit in Dubai reiterated that anti-government demonstrations shall continue as scheduled.

"We shall retreat on the demonstration field," Odinga said.

He urged his supporters to take a rest over the weekend and on Labour Day which is on Monday, to get ready for the demos.

Odinga has said that they going back to the streets because they have not received positive feedback from President William Ruto on the demands that they tabled in a memorandum.

He also said that called off demos after religious leaders called on him to do so and not from Ruto.

"We postponed our demonstrations after listening to our Muslim brothers' pledge for peaceful Ramadan prayers. We also heed the plea of the religious leaders," Odinga said.

Odinga condemned the Shakahola deaths terming it "a massacre that has never been seen in the country".

He called on the government to give the media access so that they can inform the public on the progress of the exhumation process.

The opposition chief was flanked by NARC Kenya Party Leader Martha Karua, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka among other leaders who also reiterated on the anti-government protests.

The Azimio coalition resolved to have the bipartisan talks with Kenya Kwanza and demos running concurrently from next week.

"Nothing stops dialogue out of Parliament, the dialogue shall continue as we continue with the demonstrations," said Odinga.
