An eyewitness told The Standard that Public Service Vehicles which ply the route especially from Kilimambogo to Mwingi move at high speeds, calling upon the NTSA to nip the reckless behavior in the bud.

A police officer stationed at Ngoliba Police Station said that Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA) has been notified of the "blackspot" area following numerous accidents.

Thika- Garissa Highway was re-carpeted last year after it developed several potholes causing minor accidents and traffic snarl-ups especially as you approach Thika town.
