It is Easter - one of those holidays we look forward to. It’s a holiday that reminds us of the love we share with our loved ones and for many people, the best way to celebrate it is with family.

But times are tough, the soaring cost of living and fuel woes might mean you found yourself with limited options this weekend. Maybe you live miles away from your family and you’re unable to spend time together as you normally would or, you might just want to turn this year’s Easter into a self-love one.

Choosing to spend time alone on a holiday can be a great idea because every other day is usually packed with stuff to do.

Here are a few ideas you can explore for the remainder of the holiday.

Go out for a movie

Going to the movies is a classic activity that many people still love. Although people just choose to sit at home and watch something interesting on Netflix, it can get boring. Going to the movies is a nice thing you can do alone or with family or friends.

It would be nice for you to see what movies are scheduled and enjoy being in the company of other people. You can order some great snacks too and just have fun watching that new movie that is only showing on the big screen.

Go for a lunch date

A holiday doesn’t have to be pompous or financially straining to be enjoyable. You can go out for a quiet lunch alone, with immediate family or with a friend or two.  Many people are nervous about going for lunch by themselves. Admittedly, it can be hard to be comfortable when you’re surrounded by couples or other people chatting the afternoon away while eating.

But, once you get the hang of it, you won’t notice everyone around you and it will be less awkward. You can find a nice spot with a great view and carry your favorite novel to read on your solo date.

Have an at-home spa day

Treating yourself to a spa day at home might be just what you need to relax. Doing it yourself gives you an opportunity to connect with yourself and learn new things about your body.

You will get to see what skincare and hair products have been working and you also have the chance to try out new things like an interesting nail polish colour or a new hairstyle.

When you’re having a home spa treatment, you will be more comfortable and you won’t have to rush the process.

Go for an outdoor adventure

Being in the great outdoors is one of the most effective stress relievers you can find. And the good thing about it is that you don’t have to spend a lot of money.

You can decide whether you’re more comfortable taking a road trip to a nearby town, you can even choose to go for a nature walk or go cycling if that is what you would like.

There are different ways you can connect with nature so the choice is yours.

Have a cooking challenge

You can also try cooking something completely new at home. Think of something you’ve always wanted to try, but never really got the chance to.

It could be that you’ve wanted to try making cheesecake or a new breakfast recipe. You will have your Easter meals sorted and have fun while you’re exploring interesting recipes. Yum!
