Chameleone speaks on dead attacker

Robert Karamagi, the man who broke into Chameleone’s house on Boxing Day, before setting himself ablaze was buried in Fort Portal, Uganda, last week.

“This man intruded into my house and acted in a self-destructive manner that I can’t explain what he had in mind except narrating what I witnessed,” Chameleone, who previously remained silent on the matter, said during the burial.

Karamagi died in hospital where he?was taken for treatment for the severe wounds he sustained in the botched attack.

The midnight attacker is said to have been armed with a five-litre jerrycan of petrol when he found his way into the singer’s compound.

Chameleone’s wife, Daniella, was making her way to the pantry only to hear footsteps in the sitting room. On going there, she met a man who just stood there — saying nothing, reported a Ugandan paper.

Daniella then panicked and shouted for help as the man threatened, charging towards her.

According to sources, the man then doused himself with petrol and then tried to douse Daniella too. He then pulled out his lighter and set himself alight. He then started screaming for help. Police was called in just in time before he burned to death.
