Kericho Zoo custodian Michael Lagat was the darling of his side when he frustrated Ulinzi Stars’ strikers in a goalless Sportpesa Premier League match at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru yesterday.

Lagat parried a powerful header by Enosh Ochieng in the 75th minute for a fruitless corner.

Three minutes earlier, he (Lagat) had saved another one grass-cutter from midfielder Daniel Waweru in a match the soldiers should have won with three unanswered goals as their opponents resorted to defensive play.

Ulinzi coach Dunstan Nyaudo benched Ezekiel Okare and Elvis Nandwa for Mark Bikokwa and Elijah Mwanzia but could not find a way through.

Second half substitute Brian Asewe almost snatched the winner for the visitors in the 77th minute, but his well taken drive was saved by Ulinzi custodian James Saruni.
