Juventus' confidence is growing that they can be the ones to lure Manchester United's David De Gea away from Old Trafford.

The goalkeeper has still not signed a new contract with the Premier League club.

According to the Sun, the Old Lady are batting their eyelids at the Spanish stopper - and the 27-year-old's agents are open to the idea.

De Gea is out of contract in the summer, but United do have the option of extending for a further year.

He came up against the club who want him on Tuesday night in the Champions League but he could do nothing to prevent Juve going back to Italy with a 1-0 win.

A United source said: “De Gea played against his future club on Tuesday.

“Juve are experts in intelligent deals. If United don’t sell him in the summer, Juventus will wait until the end of his contract.”

The goalkeeper was expected to sign a new deal in Manchester over the summer but as yet terms have not been agreed.

United may be forced into a cut-price sale next summer with the risk of losing him for free 12 months later.

De Gea had been linked heavily with Real Madrid but that appears to be dead in the water after they signed Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois.
