Jose Mourinho rewarded his Manchester United team with an extra day off after their dramatic win over Newcastle on Saturday, according to reports.

The Red Devils went two goals behind in just ten minutes at Old Trafford after Chelsea loanee Kenedy and Yoshinori Muto notched in quick succession for the Magpies.

But Manchester United returned a rejuvenated team with a point to prove after the break and delivered the perfect response.

Juan Mata came off the bench to reduce the deficit in 70 minutes before Anthony Martial found his shooting boots and netted his first Premier League goal of the season.

The international break means Manchester United now have an 11-day break, with those not on duty expected to be back at Carrington on Tuesday.

But according to The Metro, Mourinho has allowed these players an extra day off as a reward for their brilliant performance against Newcastle.

The players who won't be representing their countries include Anthony Martial, Chris Smalling and Juan Mata.
