There will be little room for errors when the national Short Course swimming championships begin at Oshwal Academy in Nyali, Mombasa, from October 19-21.

Selectors will also want to be in their best minds as they pick the national team to the FINA World championships in China.

The 14th world event is set for Hangzhou from December 11-16 and Kenya will be represented by swimmers who will be named after the Mombasa event.

According to gala rules, swimmers are limited to seven events, while 100m Individual Medley will be a bonus race for all swimmers without meet qualification times.

Foreign-based swimmers will be required to provide a letter from FINA swimming affiliated federations confirming they are registered members with good standings.

Some of the star swimmers include sisters Sylvia and Maria Brunlehner and Emily Muteti, who competed in the Commonwealth Games. [Ernest Ndunda]
