Roman Abramovich is understood to want £3billion to sell Chelsea.

Despite the club's continued insistence that it is not for sale, the Russian Blues owner is believed to be ready to cash in to quit London.

The figure would represent a world record fee but it is claimed Abramovich has already turned down an offer of £2.3bn while he holds out for the amount he wants.

The Chelsea supremo has also been left frozen out of the country by visa problems which have forced the club to shelve plans to revamp Stamford Bridge.

Abramovich withdrew his application to renew his UK residency visa earlier this year and an application to live in Switzerland has been rejected, but in May, he got Israeli citizenship.

The issues have come amid heightened tensions between this country and Russia.

This year Abramovich is also believed to have recruited merchant bank Raine Group to advise over the possible sale of the club.

Chelsea maintain his commitment to the club remains intact but there are growing fears that he could yet walk away.
