A spirited Nyandarua County men's tug of war team beat Kakamega 2-0 to set up a mouthwatering final against Kisumu in the ongoing inaugural County Assemblies Sports Association (CASA) games at Kasarani Stadium, tomorrow (Thursday).

The 11am final will be preceded by a third place playoff between Kakamega and Trans Nzoia, who lost 2-0 to Kisumu. Nairobi will battle it out with Kisii in the women's final.

On their way to the finals, Nairobi and Kisii overcame Embu and Kisii by an identical scoreline of 2-0 respectively.

After semifinals defeat, Kakamega coach Douglas Indakwa has shifted his focus on winning the bronze medal.

"Early preparation and facilitation is always important for any team to perform well. But we have good teams and I am pleased with their performance. I believe we have what it takes to go back home with the bronze medal," said Indakwa.

In volleyball, Senate was among the seven men's team to qualify for the quarterfinals after overcoming Nyeri 2-1 in Wednesday's round of 16 encounter at Kasarani.

Senate have been joined in tomorrow's knock out out stage by Trans Nzoia, Bungoma, Nakuru, Siaya, Migori and Kisumu after they all beat their respective opponents.

"This is a great warm up tournament ahead of the East African Parliamentary Games in Arusha," said veteran coach Gideon Chenje, the current Senate trainer.

Nairobi will face Uasin Gishu in the last prequarterfinal match tomorrow morning.
