Manchester United fans worldwide have a reason to smile following reports French forward Anthony Martial will not be leaving the club this summer.

Martial, who has fallen subject of speculation after a series of poor performances and an alleged fallout with manager Jose Mourinho, was omitted from the France squad that won the World Cup after failing to impress while donning Red Devils colours last season.

His agent fueled speculation about his departure after confirming the 22-year-old was not happy at the club. On top of this, his relationship with Mourinho is said to have hit an all-time low after he left the club’s US tour to witness the birth of his child.

As a result, Martial was fined two weeks’ wages for not coming back to train with the team in time.

“I'm here for two years and a couple of months and the only player that was fined was Anthony Martial, so it is not easy to be fined here,” Mourinho told reporters during pre-season.

Reports out of English sports news outlets now indicate Martial will stay at Man United and fight for a place in the team.

Despite solid competition from the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Jesse Lingard, the former Monaco star will be hoping to convince ‘The Special One’ that he is good enough to play week in week out.
