The public have crowned Sir Mo Farah as BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2017.Jonathan Rea came second, with Jonnie Peacock in third place. Votes were cast online and by telephone during the ceremony at the Echo Arena, Liverpool, live on BBC One.
The awards were presented by Gary Lineker, Clare Balding and Gabby Logan in front of a 10,000-strong audience. The ceremony reflected on a year which included sporting highlights such as the World Athletics and Para-athletics Championships, the Women’s Cricket World Cup, the British and Irish Lions tour of New Zealand and the Rugby League World Cup.
