Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia will be hoping to maintain their unbeaten record under Dylan Kerr when they host Bandari in Kisumu today.

At the same time, Nzoia Sugar will entertain Western Stima in another tie at Sudi Stadium.

K’Ogalo bask in 11 straight wins and that is why  coach Dylan Kerr will be eager to win and open an eleven point gap against second-placed Kakamega Homeboys (40).

The dockers beat Gor 6-5 in post match penalties in the GOtv Shield round of 32.

And having been slashed nine points by KPL following the suspension of Nakumatt and Zoo Kericho, the Briton has urged his players to keep their cool as they seek a double over Paul Nkata’s men.

“It is going to be a tough game. Since we have gone eleven matches unbeaten, every team now wants to beat Gor Mahia.

“People want us to lose, but I am proud of my players as they have proved those critics wrong.

“We have only conceded three goals. We are now creating chances and scoring goals. I saw Bandari the first time I came to Kenya when they beat us on penalties. My players have a lot to do,” Kerr told The Standard Sports.

“It is not a revenge mission against Bandari. Revenge always causes problems because players start doing things that they are not used to do in training and that is when the unexpected happens.

“We are going into this game with the same mentality of getting three points, nothing else.”

While K’Ogalo will be aiming to seal their position at the top, arch-rivals AFC Leopards will be travelling to Narok for a crunch game against wounded Sofapaka.

Although, fourth-placed Batoto Ba Mungu seems to have lost ground in the title race, AFC coach Robert Matano expects a difficult match against his former employers.

“Sofapaka is an experienced team with quality players. We must be at our best to get something positive. It will be a difficult game for both teams,” said Matano.

Kakamega Homeboyz face an acid test against former champions Ulinzi Stars in another highly anticipated clash in Nakuru tomorrow as relegation threatened Mathare United travel to Chemelil Sugar.
