Atletico coach Diego Simeone was quizzed about Costa during his press conference on Friday morning, but insisted his focus was solely on Saturday’s LaLiga opener at Girona.

“Diego Costa is not our player. The only thing that matters to me is tomorrow’s game against Girona and the three points,” he said.

Chesea Boss Conte, who has also cast striker Diego Costa into exile, heads into Sunday's clash at Tottenham without Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas following their dismissals in last weekend's shock defeat against Burnley.

Antoni Conte was also quizzed about Diego Costa at his press conference on Friday.
